LEROY McCLAIN

LeRoy McClain is a multi-award winning, British-American stage and screen actor.  Originally from Huntingdon, England, LeRoy stared as Shy Baldwin in Amazon Prime's The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, for which he earned a 2020 SAG Award for Best Ensemble in a Comedy Series and is currently playing the role of Andre Rashad Wallace in the Sex and the City reboot, “And Just Like That…” for HBO/HBO Max.  On the big screen, Mr. McClain also stars as Cecil Franklin the MGM feature-film Respect, opposite Jennifer Hudson and Forrest Whitaker.  Other film credits include The Happy Sad and The Adjustment Bureau.  LeRoy’s television appearances include Blue Bloods, Elementary, The Good Fight, Madam Secretary, Rubicon, Law & Order: Criminal Intent and others.  For the stage, he has performed extensively in venues across the globe, appearing on Broadway in The History Boys and Cymbeline and in many notable Off-Broadway and international productions, including: Plenty (opposite Rachel Weisz), Othello (opposite Philip Seymour Hoffman and Jessica Chastain) and The Good Negro (opposite Anthony Mackie, directed by Liesl Tommy)  all for The Public Theater;  Milk Like Sugar at Playwrights Horizons, and in Simon Stephen’s On the Shore of the Wide World at Atlantic Theater Company, and many others.  In addition, LeRoy has appeared in numerous World and U.S. Premieres for such noteworthy theater companies as The Vienna Festival, The Williamstown Theater Festival, The Goodman Theater, Yale Repertory Theatre, Center Theatre Group, The Huntington Theater and The Old Globe, performing notable, award-winning leading roles ranging from the title character in Hamlet, to Walter Lee Younger in A Raisin in the Sun to Chilford in Danai Gurira’s The Convert to Boy Willie in August Wilson’s The Piano Lesson.  He is a graduate of the Yale School of Drama and the Royal National Theatre of Great Britain.
